MBA Salary by Concentration

How MBA pay varies across concentrations. Click any concentration for its profile, synonyms, and related searches.

Direct answer
MBA pay varies widely by concentration. Finance, consulting, and tech/product concentrations tend to sit at the higher end, while nonprofit, general management, and operations roles span a broader range. Concentration is only one factor — school, industry, geography, and experience matter as much or more.

How concentration shapes MBA pay

Concentration signals the roles and industries a graduate targets, which is what actually drives compensation. Finance and consulting tracks feed into high-base, high-bonus roles; product, analytics, and general management span a wider band; nonprofit and operations paths trade cash for other goals. Two graduates with the same concentration at different schools, in different cities, with different pre-MBA experience can land far apart — which is exactly why we gate concentration numbers until we have enough verified records to show a real distribution rather than a misleading single figure.
